Why do you assume Gus won’t hire a good DC? He’s had a pretty good track record at Auburn.
Now do you trust Leach or Norvell (two guys who field notoriously bad defenses) would do the same?

That is what I like about Norvell. I believe it was two years ago that he had one of the top defenses in terms of turnovers forced. That is exactly the defense he needs to pair up with his offense. I believe that coach left to be a HC elsewhere.
Due to his offense, he will likely never have a great defense in terms of ppg or ypg
