Yea, and we were "turning back into Alabama again" after the Clemson game too. Instead we average the most penalties I can remember an Alabama team averaging since the Shula era.

We're a good team. We're not a great team. It is what it is.

Yep, I think this was evident before this loss and I don't think much differently of this team after the loss. Played a very tight and poor first half, especially on offense.

Team can be great if they play up to that level - aka find a running game and a pass rush - but still see growing pains.

Defense is young and I thought played well overall considering their limitations and how much they were on the field in the 1st half. Offense also put them on two short fields and didn't gain any first downs.

Moses would have been a big help in coverage and allowing us to be more multiple on defense.

Overall, just hope Bama takes it out on Auburn in the iron bowl and finishes the season strong. Think the defensive toughness will come as the freshman get older and turn into leaders. Offense needs to improve on the line of scrimmage and whole team needs to get more disciplined and get less penalties moving forward.

Agree - and I'll be honest, I think that we have - as Aaron Suttles put it in his post-game column - "lost our soul".

That doesn't mean turning into Georgia or Les Miles LSU, but the entire structure with Tua and the WRs and throwing to set up the run is different and weird and not our identity. I'm just not sure we are entirely sure how to craft a team identity around that. Add in the defensive issues, injuries and youth and it kind of snowballed.
