A perfect example:

Two teams from the same Conference....

*Oklahoma is 7-1
*Baylor is 8-0

*Oklahoma has defeated zero teams in the Top 25
*Baylor has defeated TWO teams in the Top 25

*Oklahoma LOST at #16 Kansas State by 7 points
*Baylor WON at #16 Kansas State by 19 points

What basis would one have to rank Oklahoma ahead of Baylor at this point in the season? But of course, the Committee did just that, ranking 7-1 Oklahoma at #9 and undefeated Baylor at #12.

This is exactly why you have a committee. I'm surprised at you. Most UGA fans I know are astute enough to look past the mere W-L record.

Rice had the ball with 6:00 left against Baylor, only down a touchdown. fricking winless Rice who's 0-9. Top ten teams don't almost get beat by 0-9 Rice.

They only beat 5-3 Iowa State by 2 at home, with ISU having the ball at their 44 at the end.

They had to go to overtime to beat another shitty team, Texas Tech (3-5), by 3 points. That game was also at home.

They only beat another shitty team, West Virginia (3-5) by 3 points, again at home.

But Oklahoma is only ranked ahead of them because of the "brand."

There are 6 teams with losses ranked ahead of Baylor, simply because their 8-0 record is bullshite. They almost got beat by three teams that are pure dogshit. That's why you have a fricking committee...to see that kind of bullshite.

I will agree, not every 8-0 record is created equal.

Now I think that Minnesota's 8-0 record is vaguely impressive and that #17 is about right for what they have done. They haven't really beaten any good teams, though they've laid the lumber to some big name teams, so that sounds about where they should be.

I doubt they will stay there since their schedule gets a lot more difficult in the coming weeks with three of their last four against ranked teams.

Which is why, in the unlikely event both go unbeaten, I'd take Minnesota over Baylor because the Gophers will have a legit trial by fire in the home stretch.
