I think this boils down to the eye test and who they think would win the most games if these teams play 10 games at a neutral site.

I think Oklahoma would win 8/10. The playoff committee is about ranking the best teams, not the teams with the best records.

I think they did a pretty good job and this will be settled on the field.

BINGO. But "eye test" is biased in nature. It creates the opportunity for them to think, "Surely Oklahoma would beat Baylor" simply because they have ingrained biases towards teams like Oklahoma (positive) and also Baylor (negative).

Eye Test creates a way for past program prestige to slip its way into the rankings, and that's not good.

Haha, I’m sorry but why even play the games then? If they don’t really look at resumes and just go by who they “think” will win on a neutral field then just skip the season.

“Yeah we know they haven’t shown evidence of this by their performance but we think they should.....”

Gah that’s ridiculous
