Good post. I personally can't see this providing any sense of parity for the sports it will no doubt affect in the future. The schools would have to add another Admin Dept just to handle the contracts and to keep track of the income generated by each student-athlete. Sounds like an administration and accounting nightmare.

I agree, it's going to affect the future and balance structure of college athletics in one way or another...perhaps in a way we cannot predict.

It really becomes complex when you begin to think about all the considerations.

One thing I thought of was how to set prices? Do players need to have their own agents or lawyers to work with companies and/or the school? Perhaps that can be done through the AD, but that again leads to more people schools need to hire in order to keep up with it all.

One point I saw brought up on a different board is that this will be the end of the small market schools. Those with less than P5 budgets were already having a hard time competing, and with all the extra administration costs and staff this will bring, a lot of smaller schools will just close down athletic programs instead of dealing with the extra costs and headaches.

It will be the end of college sports, and only the big boys will compete in a NFL,NBA, MLB type of training league
