Born and raised an LSU fan. Grandparents were season ticket holders since like the 60s. Left BR as a kid and grew up out west.
Ended up at Texas because they were one of the best in my event at the time. Got to compete at LSU my freshman year and brought my teammates over to my grandparents house for a crawfish boil after the meet, which they loved. Got injured, ended up calling it a career, and finished up school back out west.
Never stopped cheering for LSU. My wife, who I met at Texas, let every single person we met in Austin this year know I didn’t go to LSU. So I stepped back and let her get tiger baited a few times.

Texas was my first choice but then I settled for LSU because I didn't want to pay the out of state tuition as my old man wasn't going to pick up the tab. I sometimes wonder how life would've turned out had I gone away to Austin but I was yelling Tiger Bait from a young age and can't imagine cheering for anyone ever against the Tigers. Honestly, the fact that Texas had little likelihood of playing LSU was a big reason I considered them over another SEC school. Even as terrible as the Curley era was, I wouldn't trade it for the world as it made the Night the Magic Came Back and everything that came afterward that much sweeter.
Figures that my old man now lives deep in the heart of Texas.

I went to three different universities in Alabama and have degrees from two of them. I pull for all three schools.

Good story; liked it.
I went to UGA because their journalism school was ranked tops in the country, too; not because I was a fan. After attending freshman orientation in June/'72, I fell in love with the school, its campus, and Athens. It was then I became a Dawg.
So, instead of going to USC for undergrad like I'd originally wanted to, I returned home to Los Angeles and earned my grad degree at USC.
