So, the knock on Cristobal is game management? This is Alabama you can get someone to help him with that. What you can't find on trees are dynamite recruiters who have success as head coaches. Cristobal came to Tuscaloosa because he'd been unjustly fired from FIU. Plus, had Cristobal stayed at Miami where he had a job before Saban offered no telling where that program would be sitting. I say all that to say Cristobal is heavily tied into arguably the best recruiting area in the U.S. and he's wise enough to let his other coaches coach. That along with recruiting prowess are rare qualities.

I don't think Dabo is a slam dunk hire. Far from it. The Alabama job has always been one of the biggest jobs in all of sports and it's in the most competitive college football conference. I wonder if Dabo would give up a better quality of life to be the head coach at Alabama.

The knock-on Cristobal is the time he's been a HC in Duckville. He had a first-round QB decide to come back for a senior season. When does that happen? When Hebert leaves and it's his recruits, let's see what kind of team he puts on the field.
