One thing you’d better get ready for if Dabo is the next guy: it’s in his coaching DNA for having worked with Tommy Bowden and Bill Curry. There’s going to be that one game a year where Mississippi State or Missouri or even Vanderbilt just wears our arse out and we come away with an ugly loss or a skin of your teeth win. It’s an annual event with Dabo. The yearly WTF game. See Clemson vs UNC for example

I get where you are going with this......but I think that is more of an aspect of college football.

You remember Saban's first year at LSU. They lost to UAB and Watson Brown.....the coach with the most losses in College Football.

Remember Saban's first year at Bama? LA-Monroe taking it to us? How bout 2009 when it took 2 blocked field goals to beat a UT team, that finished 1 game over .500 (7-6)

It happens.

This happened in 2017. We've had a few ugly wins with Saban...and a few losses to lesser opponents.

I remember all too well. However, I believe Saban now has the longest streak in college football of not losing to an unranked team and it’s not even close. The last one was La Monroe in 2007.

If Bama does lose a game, it’s to a team good enough to be ranked. Sure, there have been some close calls like Ricky Block, but Bama finds a way. That’s probably the most impressive streak Saban has, bar none. Dabo has at least one close call annually to an unranked team and several ended in losses. That’s the difference.
