That hurt to read, but it’s not wrong. Counterpoint - even Clemson wasn’t Clemson not so long ago. Took Dabo several years to build that program. And he has the luxury of coasting through the regular season in the ACC.

To answer OP question, 1/4 won’t get him fired. That’s a 9-3 season with a true freshman QB. It’ll upset factions of the fan base, but unless this season goes full blown 2012, I don’t see Gus going anywhere.

A fair point, but also worth mentioning UGA fired their 9-3 coach and is probably ok with that decision.

Let's also remember that Clemson fired an overpaid underperforming HC mid-season abs replaced him with an assistant who wasn't even a coordinator. So did LSU.

Maybe we should fire Gustav and promote Garner. After all, it worked for those two programs, right?

This is BS. The whole “who would we get better than Gus” argument is BS. You go find someone. Yes Auburn isn’t Bama,Oklahoma, Ohio State, but we are in that next 10-15 tier and shouldn’t see this group especially on D go 8-4
