I feel like it's a pretty bad game to choose against a neutered defense like Mississippi State's.

Senior defensive tackle Lee Autry
Junior linebacker Willie Gay Jr.

Both missed the game due to suspension and Willie Gay Jr. is supposedly the heart and soul of their defense. Throw on top of that a targeting of Erroll Thompson their Team Captain Linebacker in the first half, it makes for pretty easy pickings.

Basically missing almost half of their Front Seven and inconveniently the two captains of their defense. Just bad news all around.

Imagine how bad it would be if we lost Zuniga, Reese and Greenard. That's pretty much what Mississippi State lost on their defense (although I think our guys are actually better).

In the end, it would have made much more sense to use the Texas A&M game -- although it'd be a lot more difficult to highlight much since he only completed 12 passes for 100 yards. His road games are more likely to be what happen vs. his home games.

Finch...stop your worrying. Top Billin is great as a resource to watch footwork, routes etc etc...but he does these film studies for everyone. Relax. Baby Nix is going to be in for a long day in the Swamp.

It's way easier to throw against a defense when their top rush players are out for the game, in front of your fans and with all the breaks going.

Totally different game when you can't even hear your own voice against the #2 sack defense in the country.

Our red zone defense is best in the nation too. We seem to be bend dont break this year. I think Grantham doesnt trust the secondary so he is hesitant to press. Let's the short passes hit all game but closes down once near the red zone.

The only glitch is he does pressure, so it's basically dont break with a boom or bust strategy as well. We are either going to force a sack or mistake, or let you throw short all game. Seems that is our go to plan. Sell out to try to get them behind the chains, but stay back in coverage to not allow explosive plays.

It's worked. Let's hope it continues.

Gotta hold them to field goals. No explosive plays and the offense has Got to protect trask so he can exploit ufs only real advantage in this game which is at wr vs their dbs.
