Joe Craddock must be the first head to roll if things don't improve.

LINK Craddock on the offensive line: "I think they played not so well the other night. I don't know what it was. It's something you'll have to ask them."
"It's something you'll have to ask them". WHAT. THE. frick. Kind of answer is that? You're being paid $600,000 a year to be our OC and on Monday you don't have an actual answer to as basic of a question as possible? Has he not looked at the film or is he actually incapable of discenering what went wrong to an offensive line on film? Either answer is brazenly unacceptable. If you don't know specifically what went wrong and have a plan to address it by Monday morning, you don't deserve to be a coach in college, let alone a OC. frick you couldn't keep your job as a damn High School assistant line coach without a definitive answer.
*Edit* *Additional Context* LINK
A little more context:Craddock was asked about the line's struggles after playing well against CSU, and he said he wasn't sure why the game against San Jose State was different: "We felt like Colorado State's d-line was better than San Jose's but we didn't prove that in the game"
Somehow the quote got even worse and my point is even more driven home.

He should have never reached the level of SEC OC this quickly.

quote:He shouldn't even be a damn high school football coach if he can't give you that answer. If you can't look at film and tell what went wrong from every position group you don't know football well enough to be a coach outside the Pop Warner/Middle school level.

This quote should explain why they didn't play so well.
Do we have the talent at oline? No, but talent has nothing to do with attitude.

If their attitude was shite then that's what he should have said. "Our boys were sloppy & arrogant the other night" "clearly just a lack of respect for the opponenet on the other side and we need to humble ourselves this week" is a half-decent paraphrase of what a leader who identified the issue as being poor attitude would say just fyi.

This is a lazy BS answer. He gets paid 600k a year so he needs to answer. He's always come across as a smug a-hole to me. He is in over his head and he knows it.

We're past the point of "if things don't improve." That was what we said at the end of last year. After last week's loss, how has everyone kept their job so far?

I'm not disagreeing he needs to go but I'm still holding out hope that the whole lot of them gets canned.
We could be nice and charitable and leave Chad in TX this weekend, his fam could come pick him up and take him home.

Just leave a case of Red Bull in the locker room for him. He'll have the energy to run his happy arse back to the ranch, or Whataburger, or wherever the frick Texans live.

Still 8 games left. Crazier shite has happened in college football. The quote that I made this thread over obviously doesn't bode well but given recent history I'll give the players the benefit of the doubt in being able to save their coaches job. Worked for Bret a couple of times.

There's still enough time for Chad Morris to look good, with the help of a small miracle. There's no time remaining for Joe Craddock to look good.

Can't say i disagree. Here's to hoping for that small miracle starting next week when Starkel is back against his old team.

If Chad is serious about turning this thing around Craddock has to go.
No business on an SEC coaching staff.

Craddock, and fry both need to be fired. As soon as we lose tykiest Crawford, and miss out on garret hayes. All of his semi good will, will be gone.
I personally prefer firing the whole staff, and starting over. Even the radio personalities are saying that Chad Morris is an undeniable failure, and this is the worst staff ever assembled. That he should have never been hired. I agree. Time for yurachek to send Morris home to collectacheck

Well.
Mmm.
That was the sort of answer you get from a first year GA who then has his butt chewed out by the head coach.
I think they played not so well. Not sure why. Maybe ask them.
You know when John L. Smith gave his "smile" answer he was in the midst of a nervous breakdown after losing his brother and being in the midst of a coaching and financial melt down.

Craddock is in the middle of losing his job, and any small amount of coaching credibility he has. Which will result in a financial melt down.

Fry was dealt a terrible hand walking into a shitshow of an OL, and our OL Saturday night with Jackson out consisted of a juco transfer making his first start at LT, a true freshman, a converted DL, a former blueshirt center, and a RT that would not be starting if Gatlin didn't tear his ACL.
He deserves some blame too but Craddock is much more worthy of it than he is IMO.

What continually amazed me was coming out in 4 WR sets and not leaving any TEs or RBs in to block.

I agree. Craddock and Fry might be the most obvious of the bunch but I hope they ALL get canned at the end of this season. This is the worst coaching staff I can remember. And Chad Morris hired them.
I'm not even going to kid myself into believing it will get much better. I'll believe it when I see it.
