The majority of the reason for that is recruiting. Just look at where all the blue chippers are going right now. Same 5 or 6 teams.

I think I saw a stat a few weeks back where Georgia had like 24, 5* players. Auburn has not had that many 5* guys in 20 years.

But its early in the season and shite is about to start to happen. Hang on for another couple of weeks. It will get better

At some point, they'll impose a salary cap based on the composite ratings of recruits. For example, your mix of 5 star, 4 star, 3 star recruits etc. cannot exceed a certain number (like 225 or something). Of course, when this happens, Saban will convince the recruiting sites to limit the guys he wants to 3 stars. In 2019, Trey Sanders would have been a 3 star.
