Unrivaled trailer
Iron Men backstory
Iron Men Wiki page
The 21 men on Sewanee’s team rumbled into a new millennium carrying with them odds defied and barriers overcome. Early-era football didn’t allow rest, substitutions, or playing on only one side of the ball. The mental fortitude required for the schedule the 1899 team played may be unparalleled by any other team in any sport. The physical demands were also intense, following some players to their grave.

Dude, just stop.
As much as we enjoy you being the proverbial laser pointer to texashorn the cat, this is getting old.

RA for sticky if you like this.
I know several folks on here liked the series on the SECN about early SEC football and this was father to it all.

Scrooster was actually at that game. When he finally figured out that the S on their jerseys didn't stand for either South Carolina or Scrooster but instead for a small Episcopal liberal arts college in Sewanee, TN his hatred for all things Sewanee and Tennessee began.

Good story.
The one Sewanee player died when BOTH of his legs were being amputated years later due to the effects of his playing with severe injuries during the games.

They also played both sides of the ball, so no sideline time when you switched between offense and defense. Imagine playing with ways and special teams today!
