There have been so many innovations of all kinds of random shite in America since the 1960s, yet football games are still broadcast the exact same way as the 1960s. Two dorks sitting in a sound booth in the press box and the same close-in camera angle of the quarterback and the O line from the 50 yard line.

Watching the Notre Dame/Louisville game on Skycam on the ESPN App right now. Definitely has potential. No ESPN announcers, but the PA announcer is piped into the audio, so you still know who did what. I'm not jealous of the television announcers and I don't think that I "could do a better job," I just think that they are irritating and it makes the game watching experience shittier in general.

Skycam has no TV announcers so way more crowd noise and stadium noise is pumped in. Doesn't feel like a sound booth. I'd have never picked it up from watching the game on the ESPN television broadcast, but the Louisville crowd is really loud and jacked up for this game and there are a lot of them and Notre Dame is up against it tonight.

Also the angle is better. You can see the secondary. The camera angle is the exact same as it was in 1964 even though a lot of teams are throwing 40-50 times a game. Seems antiquated.
