Depth Chart

Key Takeaways

Vann beat out Ortre for the start.

Jammie Beat out RJ for the start.

Rico is our starting RB with feaster and Mon behind him.

Sandidge didn't make the 2 Deep, but that speaks more to our depth than his play.

Sherrod got the LB start with TJ and EJ

That just blows my mind and, honestly, it comes out of nowhere based upon everything everyone has seen this summer.

If anything it means that Feaster will be going in the game early and they made a deal with Rico to start when he threatened to transfer.

Just mho.

Vann is a no brainer given the summer practices and OrTre's knee.

Sandidge will get plenty of playing time. We're three deep there and they're going to use all of them a lot. Freshness is the name of the game on the DLine.

I predicted Greene would start after hearing how much he has progressed in the off season and this summer in terms of learning responsibilities and tackling. The game finally slowed down for him and he is the fastest LB on the team.

I am still shocked that Rico is getting the start. This is, without a doubt in my mind, a nod from Boom and BMac overruling Brown.

I am pulling for Rico, I really am, but he has got to produce, he has got to run hard in short yardage and he has got to make plays catching the ball in the flats because we're going to be running a lot of wheel routes and flats dumps this season and he absolutely has to catch the ball and gain YACs and he has got to hold onto the ball ... and stay healthy.

Rico is from the state of NC so maybe that helped him get the nod but I expect to see him and Feaster to split carries. I'm extremely shocked that Sandige isn't on the 2 deep.

Him being from Asheville is less of a factor than Sandidge being from the Charlotte area IMHO.

Asheville is like another country in the eyes of UNC people.

I dunno why, who knows, but I trust our coaches. It's not really a big deal in the overall scheme of things because he either produces or he doesn't. He breaks tackles or he doesn't. He catches the ball and makes the tough yards or he doesn't and he blocks for Bentley or he doesn't.

Perhaps Feaster really did force him to raise his game. I hope what is being said is true.

Hmmm. I've seen a depth chart that has Sandidge as an "OR" option with Pickens, behind Kinlaw. Here's the .pdf:

Don't know which is the more recent, or more accurate. In any case, as was stated above, there will be plenty of rotation in this game....

Edit: Lonnie Utah's link is the pdf that includes Sandidge.....
