.... reading some of the posts in these UofSC vs UNC threads on the tarholio boards. Learned a little bit in the process as well.

I will type this, their fans seem, for the most part, resigned to taking a loss although they have their fair share predicting an upset. That's to be expected.
Some of the hatred in this rivalry comes out in full color in these threads and rightfully so. For those not old enough to remember, we really hated each other back in the day. Almost as much as we both despise the sheep humping sister bangers.
They all realize how important this game is to them when it comes to recruiting the state of NC.
They feel like they are going to be able to throw the ball against us.
They are all playing the season-to-season transitional game in their heads while repeatedly noting the asswhoopin' UVA put on us as a sign that they could do the same.
They love comparing stats from last season but are unwilling to admit the differences in overall strength of schedule.
Based upon the ticket price drops .... the stadium will not be full and we should outnumber them 2:1.

On another note UNC released its depth chart this morning.
They're plenty big but it doesn't say much about their depth, real time game experience or speed.
Reading the UNC fans' takes on the game they believe they'll run thre ball on us which will set up their passing game for their true freshman QB. He put up insane numbers in HS.
They believe they have two capable WRs, both 4* prospects, along with a really good TE.
Their DLine is iffy and not deep. Their LBs are big but not great tacklers. Their best LB is having to sit out the first half because of a fight he he was involved in against NC State.
Their fans believe their secondary is exceptional, experienced and capable, after seeing a lot of action last year. They do have some big safeties.
Their kicking game is suspect.

Ole Sparky ... I always liked him as a person and we should never underestimate his recruiting chops.

I can understand Georgia or florida fans being obnoxious but unc fans I don't. Funny how the one poster said we live or die on football when they do the same with basketball.

I've seen it in several threads over the offseason, but where do we have a drop off in the secondary? The secondary and DL will be our defensive strengths. Hopefully improved enough to where those guys will elevate the play of our LB core.

I think maybe they're talking about the young guys like Robinson we'll be playing this season. I'm not sure. I do know that if there is one position I assume will always be solid under Boom and TRob it's going to be the secondary now that they've had a chance to recruit some. Honestly, my only worry when it comes to our secondary is their propensity for maybe being a little too physical at times.
