I personally think Kodi is garbage.

It isn't, but it takes A LOT of work.

But it does run on mac.

It does, but not often well.

All the sites you're linking...what year is it? Aren't we almost all on Chrome? The idea those won't play on Mac is...odd.

I specifically said that those sites ought to play from a Mac computer. This issue is going to be with ad-blocking, and as a non-Mac user, I cannot speak to how to effectively do that on a Mac. I'm sure you can, but again, I'm not a Mac guy.

Regarding Chrome, Google recently announced that they will be disabling the code that facilitates most adblocking, as ads are one of their main sources of revenue. I believe that only Enterprise customers would continue having unblocked ad-blocking. Similarly, Google's admitted 100% tracking of folks using Chrome is quite shocking. If that's your bag, then have at it. It isn't mine, though.

The same is true of great products like AceStream and VLC. They work on Mac

Yes they do, and again, I said that the websites ought to work on a Mac.

SIDENOTE: Regarding acestream and anyone in the US, you should strongly consider a VPN.

This strikes me as a well intentioned thread by someone who doesn't know nearly as much about this as he thinks he does.

Note to any reading it: it's very easy to do all of this on Mac. It's 2019. Congrats on your nice machine. Take it from me, software engineer whose favorite sport to follow is la liga, which requires a lot of illegal streaming to follow. It's no problem at all.
