If at the end of our pretty short regular season plus CCG weekend you have 2 losses and didn't win your conference, why should you be able to call yourself a national champion?

Georgia fans were HOWLING about Oklahoma and ND getting in over them, WITH TWO losses.

Screw the title game weekend. Alabama in this century alone has proved, that ish doesn't matter.

As for what it would look in the first round (rankings taken from AP pool prior to start of 2018 post-season), Who wouldn't watch these 4 games?!

(1) Alabama vs. (8) Michigan, Tuscaloosa, Alabama
(2) Clemson vs. (7) UCF, Clemson, South Carolina
(3) Notre Dame vs. (6) Georgia South Bend, Indiana
(4) Oklahoma vs. (5) Ohio State Norman, Oklahoma

The only team in that set of schools with more than one loss heading into the post-season last year, was Georgia. Under this new system where you eliminate the conference championships, Georgia wouldn't lose to Alabama - and therefore, would only have one loss.

This wouldn't hurt the regular season in the least. It would likely encourage teams to play more big name opponents, as to strengthen their case as a one, maybe even two loss team at the very end.

Outside of the annual Alabama invitational presented by Dr. Pepper in the Benz every year, conference title games don't regularly sell out.

If you don't like the idea of playoff games, on campus, in December, in favor of: The tax slayer bowl, the playstation fiesta bowl, the Bad Boy mowers Gasparilla bowl, and all other corporate branded exhibition games of a kind... well, you're beyond saving.
