If you'll look back on UGA football history, you'll see what I mean.

Dooley was fairly mediocre after 1983, but stayed another 5 years. He was allowed to leave on his own terms, though, because he won a Natty, and because he regularly beat Florida and GT.

Goff got 7 years, and should have been fired after 5.

Donnan got 5 years, and probably would have gotten another year or two had he not made an arse out of himself on his call in show after the third loss in a row to GT. He was recruiting well, just didn't translate to on-field results.

Richt should have been realistically fired after 2011.

The only coach since the early 60s to have been fired after a pretty short tenure was Johnny Griffith, who only got 3 seasons...1961 to 1963.

Even Wally Butts was allowed to stay on after a pretty bad decade from 1950-1960. And it took an alleged game-fixing scandal (later proven to be false) between him and Bear Bryant to get him to step down.

Goff should have never been hired as HC to begin with. There was a damn good reason why a banner was flown over the stadium demanding his firing.
