And who can forget that night we passed over Florida to become the premier team in the Southeastern Conference? That was the highlight of the season. The game against Texas, while super stressful at the time, almost feels like an anti-climax with a decade's worth of hindsight.

I was in attendance both games, and agree with this exactly. That 4th quarter in Atlanta was just one big fricking party, never celebrated at a game like that. The Javy interception to bag it, Tebow tears, Ingram/Julio gator chomp/tying up the gator mouth on the sidelines, Urban “heart issues” we learned about later. That game was the snatching of the torch from Florida.

The Texas game, while unforgettable in its own right, was just a weird feeling the entire second half. We basically got lulled into a false sense of security, and a few Jordan Shipley strikes later, it was all of a sudden a game. Then we made a few plays and put it away again. But even then I remember the douchy rose bowl folks rushing us out of the stadium when we all wanted to celebrate and soak it in.

I also remember Mack Brown immediately throwing Garrett Gilbert under the bus after the kid had really played better than most would have expected being put in such a horrific position. He transferred out of Texas and went on to be very good at SMU while Texas has had terrible QBs up until their current one. Very karmic, in my opinion.
