Yes. He's been the President/Grand Poobah/Commanding General at the US Military Academy for five years.

With no insult intended to either side in this debate... Caslen is a home run hire. Say what you will but Army has a top notch academic reputation. He's got the background both in the military and in academics so that you can assume he can find his arse with both hands and a road map.

Could he be a complete disaster? Well. Yeah. There are no perfect candidates. But he seems like someone who would really complement the culture at USC and do a good job. He's not too political, he has a track record of success, and he moves USC well ahead of almost any other university in the all important "our President can kill your President in a knife fight" category.

Though, on second thought, y'all should turn him down. I think Arkansas is going to be looking for President of our University system soon and he might still be on the market.
