Can someone please explain how 5 of the 6 teams can have a below .500 record against each other? Mathematically, if half win, half lose, so how can 5 of the 6 have losing records against each other?

Because Alabama, to a large degree, has laid the lumber on y'all. I think that combined with Not Big But Not Little 5 tending to split the games against one another bumps everyone down a bit.

That or the guy who came up with this was drinking heavily. They are both equally likely answers.

For starters, Alabama has a significant lead in the series against the rest. And secondly, there have not been an even number of matchups between the teams over the years.
