An average number does not reflect game day nor humidity.
Also, I am old enough that you attended games in coat and tie with a t shirt underneath along with dress pants and street shoes. I remember games in my youth looking like I had been swimming in my clothes by the end of the game. Hot and humid with no breeze can make for some miserable games.

I am an old guy and I have to admit I love football outside when it rains and snows and it is a muddy mess. I loved playing in slop when there was more rushing than passing.
