The Hawks were dead last in attendance last year and 17th out of 30 teams the year they went to the conference finals.

The battery is considered one of the biggest successes in major league baseball right now. I love how they justified it with a front page metro map on the AJC showing where the majority of their season ticket holders reside. The team is now consistently in the top ten in attendance in accordance with the market size.

lets not let facts get in the way of a solid gripefest about the Braves moving away from their thriving fanbase living on 10th and Juniper.

I mean, if you want a white-washed sports experience without any real culture, the Battery is your cup of tea.

If you were to remove all the Braves signage, and simply replace it with Nationals regalia, and I told you that you were in Arlington, Virginia, you wouldn't know the difference.

The location sucks. If a majority of fans are indeed Suburbanites, and you are resigned to pandering to that, then cool. It's not Atlanta, it's suburbia. It's no different than Plano, Texas, Naperville, Illinois, the Woodlands, Texas, etc...

It's not an intolerable situation by any means. And the stadium is nice. It's just super unimaginative and bland.

And if one of your best memories as a sports fan isn't guzzling beer at a 50+ person tailgate underneath the sprawling shade tree in the blue lot for 4 hours, than I can see where there's a gap.
