Tax free??? Non-Resident tax is around 20%. Resident tax is over 45%.

It's not tax free. The US is one of the only first world countries that taxes ex-pats as though they were still in the country. If you work overseas, you pay whatever the local tax is and US income tax. It's about the only area where Americans are taxed more than our 1st world counterparts. (It's obviously different if you're not in a civilian job - e.g. military).
