Then again. Why didn’t they just fire D&D. Wasn’t like they would have lost much. I’m sure they had other writers working in the show to some extent.

HBO seems to have backed themselves into a corner with these bozos who were jumping ship for SW anyway.

Boggles the mind they needed two years for this godawful season.

Could have been anything from contracts to "what was comfortable". Although to be honest, with how good GoT was and how everyone was pretty happy (people generally disliked Season 7 but whatever, I thought it was at least 'okay') I don't think anyone at HBO could have predicted that Season 8 would be this terrible.

You think you have professionals who want to leave their mark on one of the (if not THE) greatest shows of all time and then you realize: Wow, these guys put zero thought into this and really just want to bail.

This is akin to getting a two weeks notice from an employee who has been an exemplary worker who suddenly takes the last week off for 'sickness'. You expect the employee to finish up his job and leave with dignity, but suddenly he just stops giving a frick with no warning.

If I were Disney, even though they're so far ahead, I would be extremely careful and micromanage the frick out of these two. Especially if they seem like they have other jobs in the future.
