Is golden. True professional. As an LSU fan I enjoyed listening to him today.

He and Cormier do a nice job on the baseball telecasts.

His voice is really annoying to me. I had to turn the sound off and listen to Chris Blair on the radio.
Cormier was good, though.

Yeah, he is one of my favorites. Really enjoyed him doing Nascar back in the day when I loved cheering for Davey Allison

As long as he doesn’t have to give down and distance he does great.

Very nice man, but I always thought he looked a little on the Downsy side

I was going to start a similar thread. Had a really classy interview with Eric Walker and they were very complimentary of both teams.

Hearing him say, "touchdown Alabama" is nauseating to me.
It's his voice and pronunciations.
Odd considering he's from NYC I believe? He certainly doesn't have a New York accent.

Yea he's from Brooklyn I think (old Brooklyn, not 2010s yuppy Brooklyn). He's called everything from the NHL to MLB to NASCAR to college baseball.
He's a pro as a broadcaster, but he's pretty meh as your teams play by play guy. He won't embarrass you (see Auburn), but he also won't give you much in the way of memorable calls to play over and over.

I don't mind it at all.

I swear I sometimes forgot I was listening to an opponent's home town announcers. Those guys seemed to know as much or more about our team and program than their own. Cormier has a promising future as an color guy.

He is hard to follow during the game. You do not know where the ball is, how much yardage was made during the play and the score half the time. He does have some good food stories. The SEC misses those broadcasters that could paint a picture of the game and the surroundings of the event. Forney, Fyffe, , Ward, Cristil, Hawthorne and Munson could all do that well, not so much Eli.
