Saban is one of the greatest coaches ever, bama might reload when he retires, but the chances are that they go through several coaches very quickly.

Like Saban to Alabama, Dabo is most likely worth every single penny of this money to the school and program. He is a proven winner.

I think we have a Les Miles type situation where we hire a good coach who keeps the machine humming for 2-3 years then inevitably loses 3 games, the wolves come out, he decides to GTFO and then we have a 10-15 year period of eating guys up for going 9-3 and turnover until we finally kind of start over.
JMHO - unlike when Bryant left, the cupboard won't be shoddily stocked for the next guy. He'll inherit a loaded roster and a loaded infastructure. And we have a good AD who I trust to make a good hire.
However, there aren't any other Saban's and eventually whoever we hire will have a mortal season and the necks will call for his head.

Yeah, but LSU wins in spite of its coach. Hell LSU won a national championship with les miles. Alabama is only as good as the coach.

Yes the contract includes language specific to Alabama. Higher buyout if he leaves for Alabama than anywhere else. Clemson built a wall.
