The contract also includes a conditional extension for Woodward if LSU is hit with NCAA sanctions due to events that happened before Woodward was hired. If such a sanction occurs, the contract says, Woodward's term will be extended for a period of two years to April 30, 2027, at $1.5 million per year in the additional years. It includes a relocation signing bonus of $250,000, which is payable within 30 days of May 6, 2019, and it includes two retention bonuses of $250,000, which he will receive if he remains employed as the athletic director at LSU through April 30, 2024, and $500,000, if he remains employed through April 30, 2025

Got a raise for ditching A&M.

Imagine that.

Finally getting market value. I wonder what he did to piss off Sharp. We have no issue handing money out to coaches.

Pretty standard top 10-15 salary for an AD. I think he was making like $900k at A&M. Which wasn't in the top 25. I'd image A&M will pay in the 1.5 range for whomever they hire to replace Scott.

I thought LSU was too poor.

The fact this is in there is pretty indicative that the Will Wade saga isn't over. Will be interesting to watch.

it's too bad A&M couldn't afford to pay him more. I think they really liked him there.

Well deserved.

I wish Sharp would have ponied it up.

I hope he does well for LSU.

I love how LSU get so butthurt over being too broke to hire Jimbo, that they make their DC the highest paid assistant in the country(when he reached out to Jimbo to save him no less), and now they pay their AD all this money and they'll have nothing left over to pay good head coaches, that they couldn't afford in the first place.

It would be the most laughable financial story in the SEC if it wasn't for that Auburn buyout.

Ok, I'm confused. Does that contract extension REWARD Woodward if there are sanctions?
