We didn't have any choice in the matter. 
We did all kinds of stupid shite like that. They would "teach us" to do stupid shite that wasn't even in our job description.
ETA: The best part about that place though is that if you know where to go you can find camping spots 4 or 5 thousand feet above sea level in nice tree stands overlooking huge swaths of beach way down below. Really nice camping out there.
