I agree that Texas A&M could take the next step this year and give us trouble in their house...but I just don't buy LSU being able to hang with us in Tuscaloosa with Burrow at QB. They don't scare me at all. Nice original post btw. I watched Clemson's spring game as well and agree with your points.

The reason LSU can play with literally anybody is this:

LSU is the only big dog in a talent rich state surrounded by other talent rich states. They sit comfortably in the group that includes the cream of the crop in total roster talent in CFB, and have probably the second best DC in the game after Venables. The only reason LSU really slipped of late has been their Olines and Dlines, which they are rapidly getting in order. Regarding Burrows, he's as good of a QB as Greg McElroy, and that's plenty good enough to beat elite teams if the other 21 starters play well and you win the LOS.

LSU is close. Real close. Roster talent is 85% of what wins in CFB - ask Nick Saban.
