Enough better this year to beat Florida.
Nonotme is not a State fan so anything he writes can be taken with a grain of salt.
This season was good but we fell short of our potential. Anyone criticizing Howland is just plain ignorant or they have unrealistic expectations.
Let’s look at his four years at State.
1st year/Senior laden team was basically break even.
2nd year/Reset with mostly Freshmen, Q and Holman. Another break even season.
3rd year/Recruiting is continuing to get better. Team breaks through with a 25 win season and a FF NIT run.
4th year/Good season overall but a disappointing loss in the first round of the NCAA (first since 2009).
So Howland has made steady progress and with only 2 Seniors , the future looks bright.
Not sure why Vandy would be even interested in Howland. At his age, I think State is his last gig. Plus he is just now enjoying the fruits of his labor so I don’t think he would be wanting to leave now.
So yes we are better today than we were 4 years ago.
