Glad you’re ok! I’ve been fortunate to not have any food allergies but that sounds frightening.

Yep, found out the hard way I had shellfish allergies. Was in college and in Florida on spring break with friends. I grew up on meat and potatoes (my family were good country folks), and my friends goaded me into getting a Steak and Shrimp special so I did.
Took one bite and within a minute felt my throat getting scratchy. I probably took another couple of bites, not sure, but stopped eating pretty quickly.
Went back to my friends sisters house where we were staying and one side of my face started swelling. This was before urgent treatment clinics, so I basically laid on her couch for the rest of the evening in misery. My left eye swelled shut, and I felt horrible. Didn't want to go to the hospital.
We were driving down to Cape Canaveral the next day and I didn't want to miss it.
Found out later that kind of allergic reaction can kill you. Luckily it didn't.

My mother is deathly, and I do mean deathly, allergic to mustard. As in go directly to the hospital, do not pass go, do not linger in the restaurant or you will die.
Of course she loves barbecue so when ever we get new barbecue we have to make sure it doesn't use mustard.
I briefly developed a food allergy to, of all things, chicken. At one point I was eating some variant of chicken and rice for dinner 5-6 times a week for years. My body eventually declared I was eating this too much and made me sick every time I had chicken. I cut way back and now I'm fine.

I became allergic to crustaceans about 20 years ago. Before that I could eat shrimp and lobsters by the bucket but all of a sudden they gave me stomach cramps and the all-night galloping shits.
I can eat all the shellfish I want, but nothing with legs. I did love them so.
