It takes a lot of energy from September thru January to be a fan of football. I -love- Bama football, but it's the only sport I care about b/c true fandom takes effort. The rest of sports watching that I do is purely recreational and b/c sports are great. But I can't "get into" other sports. I wouldn't. I don't want the mental obligation.

Please explain. Monetarily? sure. Just say you spend all the money you want on football season. What's this "mental obligation"?
