So you are Mr. UGA Supporter? How many basketball games have you attended this year? Last year? Last 10 years? I’m in an immediate family of 9 UGA grads, and I can guarantee that not one of us have been to a UGA basketball game in over 8 years, and two of us played high school basketball. But that was in a time when players couldn’t stand flatfooted and almost touch the rim. A time where, if you took 4 steps with the ball like they do now, it would be called a walk. If you dribbled the ball over your head and palmed it, you’d be called for traveling. We played defense all up and down the court. And were required to not live in the paint, and goal tending was called. Today’s “basketball” is in no way related to the original intention of the game. You can call me a “sidewalk fan”, and I haven’t played much in over 15 years, but I could still kick the shite out of your sidewalk arse in one-on-one.

Oh, and to prove my 99% point, go visit the UGA basketball board. It’s hopping.
