Just saw he's headed to Chiefs as LB coach. As a Chiefs fan, would be interested in yalls thoughts.

Well, he just fielded the best defense in Kentucky history. So there’s that.

He was the coordinator when we had our best defense in recent history. I don’t know if that’s his coaching or just our talent. Hard to tell if he’s a good DC or not since he hasn’t been here that long. Would have liked to see what he could have done this year after losing our top defensive guys.

Im disappointed to see him go TBQH. Was a hell of a recruiter and linebackers coach. People have always wondered who was really in charge of the defensive calls Mark Stoops or House, although I tend to believe it was a 80/20 split with House making the calls unless overruled.
If he does reach a deal with the Chiefs I think they'll promote Dean Hood to DC.

Right. I hate to see him go but hard to be angry about about a coach going to the next level. I think he was comfortable with House making those calls since they share similar philosophies. Hood would be a good promotion though.

Big loss. We'll see what stoops does to replace him. likely promote someone, then hire.

I thought our defense, especially linebackers, really improved when he came in. Linebackers could’ve been due to the talent or Brad White, though, who I hope gets promoted to DC.

I know Matt personally and hate to see him go. He's going to be great in KC.

@TerezPaylor
So regarding Matt House, who was expected to be the Chiefs’ new LB coach:
I’m told UK decided not to let him out of his deal...but they only did that AFTER they’d agreed to negotiate the buyout. Tough break for House, who wanted to join the Chiefs, and KC.

@RapSheet
My understanding is, #Kentucky was originally slated to negotiate the buyout for Matt House to be the #Chiefs LBs coach... then decided against it. Was told House wanted to be in KC. Position open once again.
So Rapport and Perez putting out false info? Seems extremely unlikely

Yes. Extremely unlikely. Unsourced “my understanding”? That’s rumor, not information.
