Mount Juliet (Tenn.) High defensive end Reggie Grimes earned an invite to the prestigious The Opening Finals following his performance at the final regional event at Blackman High School in Murfreesboro, Tenn., last Sunday.
Above you can watch every one-on-one rep from the 6-foot-4.5, 240-pound Grimes’ performance at the event. In the testing portion, Grimes clocked a 4.69 40, 4.29 shuttle, 32-ince vertical and 39-foot power ball toss. That effort equated to a 109.11 Football Rating and was among the top 25 scores at the event.
“Grimes has really blown up physically over the last year, he tested really well and with a 4.69 40 he can kill you with speed,” 247Sports Director of Scouting Barton Simmons said of his performance. “He will need to continue to improve instinctively and develop a counter to his speed, but the Alabama legacy is a rare athlete.”
