That would be great news. Probably means we either drop Edwards from the class or back off of Gibbs though.

I hope we keep Edwards.

I don't believe they would ever consider dropping Edwards.

A Jase McClellan flip?

Bama's visiting Jase McClellan on Friday. More likely one of the targets Saban has visited this week: Cohen, Pegues, Washington and Webb.

Any of those would be nice. Especially Washington.

My pick is Washington. Here's why:

Tino's tweet: "The best things are unexpected... Tick Toc, Tick Toc..."

I bolded the "best/unexpected" guys below:

Targets Saban has already visited this week: Washington, Webb, Cohen, Pegues.

But Saban is sneaky -- might've also visited: Burch, Jarrett.

Others: Ronald Williams, Agiye Hall (2021).

Hopefully every 5* LB prospect commits/flips to us

Are we looking at any JUCO or transfer guys?

Went and looked at it again. Man if we pull in this linebacker class. Woo boy.

I doubt Tino's tweet is about Wren. Bama's only looking to add an elite WR.

I think he was pushed out..not sure we would go for him.

I’m going with tweet means Jase McClellan.. but it’s honestly just a wishful guess. We know a commit is coming soon.. hell it could be Cohen.

So we have nine candidates and maybe five spaces:

D Washington/Pegues
Jahmyr Gibbs/Jason Mclelan
J Cohen
Ronald Williams
Phillip Webb
McKinley Jackson
Arian Smith/Boutte

The TEs,WR,Jackson are signing late so that means we can sign only two now if we are to hold places for them.

One seems to be Cohen and the other a RB.
We'll have to give two from the group for lack of numbers or accommodate by jettisoning some commitments.

Looks like we should not expect too much in exciting news by signing day?
Cohen and who?

2nd Post -- A 3rd RB is not a high priority.

Commits (23) -- 4 who aren't signing early:
WR - Baker (minor grade concerns)
TE - Clark (** note below)
OL - George (might follow Evans to LSU or A&M)
OL - Jones (might flip to Ga Tech)

Targets -- 4 most likely (imo) to sign early:
WR - Smith (or Jarrett)
TE - Washington
OL - Cohen
DB - Williams (or Eaton)

February -- 27 spots - 23 in Dec = 4 spots:
RB (1-?) - McClellan (Dec), Gibbs
WR (1-2) - Baker, Jarrett, Henderson or Boutte
TE (1-?) - Frazier, Pegues (Dec)
OL (1-2) - George, Jones (Latham can play OL)
DL (1-2) - Burch (Dec), Jackson, Thomas, Collins
LB (1-?) - Webb (Dec)

** Clark probably can't play or practice in 2020 due to his severe knee injury in Nov-2019. So, I suspect he'll be a walkon for one miniterm to qualify for a voluntary withdrawal replacement scholly that only counts against the 85 limit.

If we replace Clark with Washington this class, that’d be a nice overall bump for our class.

Baker just doesn't really overwhelm me as a prospect. The WR recruiting, or lack thereof this season might be the most peculiar storyline since I've started following recruiting.

We have potentially 3 first round picks entering the draft at WR, 1 solidified starter returning, and the best QB in the class coming in...but we've got two guys committed outside the top 100? Just really odd for a recruiting juggernaut. It's a position of dire need unless i'm missing something with the group left on campus. I think if we had some elite players waiting in the wings though then they would've seen some time this year outside of mopup duty.

I don't see a flip coming. Reading the tea leaves with Boutte he just seems like a kid that has a tough time telling the staff no, but he hasn't said anything that leads me to think he's seriously wavering. Basically, "I like Alabama a lot, but I like LSU a little bit more."

Haven't seen anything from Jarrett that leads me to think he'll flip either, we need to be balls out on the kids from Florida

yeah im not sold on baker either but think he can be a good prospect. I like Bell a lot and he reminds me of a not as quick Waddle. Not crazy about Holden either. He is slow and not super quick in my opinion. Do not think any of the three are elite and 1 is definitely a questionable commit

Yeah I don't get it either. With 3 former 1st round WRs in Julio, Coop, and Rid balling in the NFL and 3 possible 1st round WRs this year with Jeudy, Ruggs, and Smitty we should have our pick of elite WR recruits. Especially with Young on top of all that. It's baffling to me.
