Technically, you’re right in what a Dynasty means. But terminology has changed some or has been updated over the years. It can have several meanings.

Just because some media folks cheapen the word using it for click bait does not mean they are correct, technically or otherwise!

The principle question is could success be repeated and could it be sustained. What you list as dynasties are actually runs and cheapen the actual schools who have legitimate ones like Oklahoma who clearly has won at the highest level with different coaches, players, AD's, and college presidents (AD's and Presidents substituting for owners as they are schools).

If you can really tell me with a straight face that Free Shoes U has the same dynastic credentials as Oklahoma I would accuse you of drinking too much Tallahassee KoolAid (or maybe eating too many stolen crabs). Sooners have won at the highest level in completely different eras with different offensive and defensive schemes. While Miami did ride the rocket for about a decade how come they could not sustain it? Could it be the Cocaine Cowboys of south Florida of that era coupled with the "U" and Thug Ball allowed short term success but not sustainable success? Fast forward and now everybody plays Thug Ball to some extent and most of the Cocaine Cowboys are dead or in jail. Miami's success has fallen when they no longer had a competitive edge like Wooden had at UCLA with Gilbert.

Here is the Sooners data from Wik
7 claimed MNC's
10 unclaimed MNC's (Alabama numbers for sure)

4 different decades
3 different coaches

Unseen on said data is Sooners have been unafraid to play the best to be the best while folks like Bowden played soft schedule with 1 or 2 marquee game to avoid that extra loss or two that would keep him out of the MNC hunt.

Dynasties are uninterrupted success.

That is what the media would like you t5o believe but it does not make it true. It only becomes true if you allow the media to bent your will and accept their clickbait standards over the actual standards. If you really are a Sooner fan and not an alter, I am surprised your would forego your own schools true dynastic claim for some pretenders.

I’ll chime in later with a more detailed reply. You bring up great points and I don’t disagree. I’ll get some time later to give a more extensive reply. Good stuff CG!
