Don't get me wrong, I think there may be truth to the idea of "ancient aliens", and maybe Sitchin was right and they are the Annunaki, but the idea that they live on the farthest planet from the sun and are only capable of coming here when their planet moves through the inner solar system is ridiculous.
When I say breakaway civilization, I mean exactly that. People from our planet that now live somewhere OTHER THAN this planet.

Sounds like you have some of the details wrong which is why you're confused.
But in a way, we are the breakaway civilization from the Anunnaki. We are a genetic experiment using their DNA spliced with that of homo erectus or whatever came before homo sapiens. That is why there is a "missing link" in our evolution.
