Dre Greenlaw is gonna be a “riser” this offseason. Didn’t get enough attention at Arkansas bc they were kinda a train wreck, but he’s a really good athlete and had a great season.

I'm assuming that he'll find himself at safety in the NFL

on a related note, saw this recently on a bears blog about nflpa collegiate bowl practice and found it mildly interesting.

quote:

On the defensive side of the ball, Randy Ramsey, EDGE, caught my eye as another guy we could well be taking a long look at. He’s in the mold of long, lean, very athletic and fast that Ryan Pace looks for. The announcers were saying that Ramsey’s performance at practice far outpaced his numbers from Arkansas, where he only had three sacks this year... I can see that, because this Ramsey was decisive and explosive, and it’s obvious that he’s been working with somebody coaching-wise.

He played put of position and only had one year of coaching. Of course he will get better.

Ramsey and Greenlaw are both going to be in that trey flowers mold where they become very productive nfl players yet are drafted way too low because of how shitty of a program and how shittily coached they were.

Ramsey has a versatile build and will get coached the hell up to reach his actual potential, all while probably being a 4th or 5th rd pick.

Greenlaw has lots of potential too, especially with his top flight speed, is going to be good, too, but he is really injury prone.

He will be drafted low solely based on this, and for good reason. His athleticism, size, and production will make him a highly sought after pick on that alone. He will shoot up draft boards early. then he will drop after they research, and learn his extensive injury history. He will then interview, and someone will fall in love with him (because he is an exceptional young man, and person). He will be drafted around the 5th round, and will have a hard time staying healthy in the NFL. If he can find a way to stay healthy he will have a good career. Maybe not a starter, but a very solid rotational guy. One of my favorite players off this terrible team. Wish him well.

Ramsey I'm not sure will ever start, but he has the ability to be another chris smith. A guy who can find a way on a team as a 3rd down only guy.
