There was absolutely jack shite out there to indicate that Barnes would be a good hire when Tenn brought him in, so I'm pretty sure hiring someone with that sort of resume wouldn't be well received (at first, then we'd all talk ourselves into it for a few days and soon become absolutely sure that the new guy will lead us to greatness since we're mostly short-memoried homers).

Unless you mean someone with some years like Barnes' last couple years already on the resume, in which case, ok, fine, we're certainly capable of worse.

Except that his entire tenure at Texas was better than that of any coach Tenn had ever had.

He was at Texas for almost 20 years and missed the tourney once. If we could only be so unfortunate as to hire a coach with that kind of "jack shite" resume
