Yes. It also hurts that Nebraska probably has the smallest "largest in-state television market" of any of the state's that have produced a National Championship participant.

Omaha is just the #74 largest market. So even if it had a massive rating, it would hardly move the needle nationally.

That's why the Alabama-Georgia game in 2017 actually pulled a decent rating considered it was two SEC teams. When a Top 10 market like Atlanta has a participant, it goes a long way to producing a bigger rating.

Good point, but Nebraska was a national power at the time. I just remember that game having absolutely no appeal to me and pretty much everyone I knew since Nebraska was exposed against Colorado and clearly didn't deserve to be in the game. I remember checking the score right before the half and it was 28-0 or something.
