The 1999 Fiesta Bowl in Arizona had over 80k in attendance. The two teams were from the Southeast, Tennessee vs Florida State.

Santa Clara is not Fiesta Bowl or Rose Bowl.

It is fricking out of the way and a horrible destination. Sheesh

I really don't get this argument. Santa Clara is served by 3 major airports - San Fran, Oakland, and San Jose. Yeah, the Bay Area is huge and very crowded so getting around there is a bitch, and the stadium is kind of in a no-man's land in that area, but the area really isn't out of the way.

Bro, half of SEC teams are "out of the way."

San Jose, San Fran, Oakland make up a massive metropolitan.
