I disagree on the didn't show up scenario . Bama maybe was disappointed in 2008 after having a great season, but the D was made to stop the power run game, not the spread. Granted, the team didn't show much heart against Utah, but OK spanked that arse and caused coach Saban to further evolve his defensive philosophy.

Both loses helped Coach Saban build his dynasty. It's a testament to what a great coach he is.

So you don't think that Alabama's 5 turnovers to Oklahoma's 1 had much to do with it? Alabama outgained Oklahoma 516 yds. to 429. Imo, turnovers tend to be a focus problem.
