Kentucky can execute tournament play extremely well. Some teams crumble under the pressure despite an impressive regular season.
A top ten ranking in December is not predictive of a team's performance on the court in March. As far as I know, Kentucky, Auburn, and Tennessee are all as good as each other.

You're over-hyping this one win if you think UK is second best in the conference right now lol. They're still the kind of team that is going to lose many road games to more veteran squads.. book it. But they will make the tourney, no doubt.
