Last year during the championship my auburn friends got together with a bunch of non Bama/UGA fans to watch at one of their houses. One of my friends in attendance who is an App St fan sent us a snap of the Auburn crew celebrating the 2nd and 26 like they had just won the championship themselves

I was incredibly surprised by this

It really isn’t surprising

Auburn has 2 rivals. Alabama and Georgia, while they may hate Alabama more they consider Georgia as their main rival and certainly their fun rivalry

At this point they have a talking point against Georgia, mainly 1980. Alabama winning another championship doesn’t mean much but Georgia winning one would hurt more

Disagree with this

Alabama is definitely our main rival, by far

There are a ton of us from Georgia who live in Georgia so UGA has always had a more "felt" impact than Alabama for like 25% of the Auburn fanbase, so for us it sometimes feels more important. But even being one of those people, my position was always that Alabama is more important to the program overall and to most Auburn people, so it was the most important to me too.

If this were only Alabama's first or second title run in the last few years you would not see Auburn people so blase about Bama

Main rival, yes. I doubt they consider it fun, though.
