As far as the Heisman goes.....

(a) Why don't they wait until after the championship game to vote?, (b) If they're going to vote this week, what will they know Sunday, that they don't know now?
Tua, Kyler Murray, and Dwayne Haskins are all worthy candidates, but the competition they're playing this week is hardly even; not remotely so. Texas is ranked 68th in total defense....a couple of yards per game better than Minnesota, and UTEP. OSU is playing a team ranked a very pedestrian 51st in total defense. Tua will go up against the 14th ranked defense in the country. So regardless of the outcome of this week's games, what does it really tell you?

I don’t give one eff about the Heisman since they screwed Payton Manning.
And I’m not a Payton Manning fan.
It has turned into a meaningless trophy.
Kinda like the Nobel Peace Prize

Justin Fields is the best quarterback on Georgia's roster.. but we all know why he's not playing

if they waited, there would be far less drama, pageantry, and thus less interest. Less interest means fewer eyes on tv and articles. Fewer eyes means less revenue. Would you voluntarily take less revenue?

I think I'm correct -- and somebody who knows better please correct me if I'm not -- in saying that the Heisman has always been presented around the first week and a half of December, and before the internet, ballots had to be mailed in. Conference championship games have only been a thing since 1992, so the real reason for all of this is that the Heisman organization (Trophy Trust nowadays, I believe) has never adjusted to this new season format. So even with internet balloting, it's still cutting it too close to accurately assess performance in championship games. They probably think that point B is basically the issue. What are they going to learn in one more game?

tOSU has a higher composite talent ranking for all players on the current roster than Bama.
Murray is a tremendous athlete playing in a system designed to favor explosive, fast paced offense.
Bama has had elite skill position talent since 2009. No one in Bama history has performed as he has and maximized the production potential of everyone around him. His abilities have contributed to school, SEC, and NCAA records being set on the offensive side of a Saban coached team.
All are deserving, but dont minimize a historic performance by Tua.

Yep. People barely even notice the baseball awards given out weeks after the World Series. Never understood why they wait so long.

Correct.
#1 Nebraska played #2 Oklahoma
#3 Alabama played #4 Auburn
The two winners played in the Orange Bowl. The two losers played in the Sugar Bowl. Neither Alabama nor Auburn were on the same level as either Oklahoma or Nebraska.

Kyler is playing in an offense designed put up huge numbers in a conference hardly known for defense.
In a single season, Tua has completely transformed the offense of a dynasty to an unimaginable level of efficiency and productivity.
