When did I ever state that was where Bama is headed? No one thinks that.

Well I mean, that's the 2nd half of the Alabama/Georgia as Florida/Alabama parallel. That's the part where one ascends and one descends, aka the changing of the guard.
If Florida had shown back up in 2010 and gone 11-1 and gone to the SECCG it wouldn't really have been looked at the way it is today.

That's why I said that in reality I could see Alabama/Georgia much more like Florida/LSU of the mid-2000s.

There wasn't insecurity in the response, it was just following the facts of the comparison, and I was pointing out that is where I think it kind of falls apart.

So Bama pulled an upset of the favored Florida Gators to dethrone them and go on to win a National Championship in 2009... rightfully staking claim to the new Top Dog of the Conference.

What does that have to do with Florida in 2010, 2011, 2012, or any year after that?

We did not establish ourself as the clear #1 big dog of the conference until 2011, maybe even 2012. If Florida had come back in 2010 and won the SEC then 2009 would have just been us getting them once and winning, and then them winning one, and a battle from there on out.

As it happened, we won in 2009, Auburn in 2010, us and LSU in 2011. We were the most consistent over that 2008-2011 period, but heading into the national title game in 2011 we had won 1 national title and 1 SEC Title - putting us on the same level as Auburn, LSU and Florida over the past 4 years. Like I said, we were WAY more consistently very good than anyone, but it wasn't until we beat LSU in 2011 and won against in 2012 that we truly separated as the elite top dog of the conference with nobody else in our vicinity.

As of 2011, it was still very much the "SEC is awesome" as opposed to "Alabama is awesome".
