Do these people actually exist? Have you ever met one? Are they real?
What exactly is the appeal of it?

Yes. Yes, they do exist.
I even knew one back in the day when I went to SIU. There was a gent living on my floor of the dorms named Victor who was a short pudgy little fellow.
Vic was what I would call a feral nerd. Normal people frightened him. Somehow he wound up being friends with friends of mine so I knew him at a distance so to speak.
Well a few years later I found out that good ole Vic had a secret ID. He was active in the world of Furries under his alias of Kitty Pow Pow. Evidently he would go to conventions with his fellow Furries where the fur would really fly.

There are a handful of furries in Fayetteville who are public. I've seen one named Rinzy at Wilson Park (downtown).

Buddy of mine lives in Pittsburgh PA and the Furries have their annual national convention there every year and its fricking hell week with people in fluffy costumes rubbing up on one another all over the downtown area. With all the fake barking, the stupid costumes and stains left on the grounds its likely a lot like a Georgia home game.

I accused my coworker of being one today. He's on a voluteer fire dept and they have some kids halloween thing where he dresses up as Sparkey the dog.
